  • Fairtrade Foundation

    The Fairtrade FoundationThe Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards.

    Fairtrade seeks to transform trading structures and practices in favour of the poor and disadvantaged.

    By facilitating trading partnerships based on equity and transparency, Fairtrade contributes to sustainable development for marginalised producers, workers and their communities.

  • FAITH

    Feed All In Thy HandFAITH (Feed All In Thy Hand) is a Christian Group that exists to fight poverty among the homeless, addicted and marginalised in Reading, Berkshire.

    FAITH is about offering love, care and friendship, without being judgmental, as well as practical help, especially food.

    We collect gifts of non-perishable foods, toiletries, treats etc. and also fund a part of FAITHS’ admin assistants’ salary.

  • Compassion International

    Compassion InternationalCompassion International is a large Christian child sponsorship organisation, working with more than 65 denominations and thousands of indigenous church partners in Africa, Asia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

    Since 1952, Compassion’s revolutionary approach, through one-to-one Christian child sponsorship, has touched the lives of more than 2 million children.

    Through the Compasion Project we sponsor two children – a boy in Bolivia, and a girl in Thailand. Encouraged by the efforts of our Junior Church we raise the sponsorship money and send letters and small gifts.

    Methodist Homes for the AgedMethodist Homes for the Aged (MHA) is a charity providing care homes, housing and support services for over 12,500 older people throughout Britain.

    Established in 1943, MHA place a special emphasis on the spiritual, as well as physical well-being of each person for whom they provide care and all their homes and housing have a chaplain to provide pastoral support.

    MHA is at the forefront of quality dementia services, building new services and delivering care and support specially designed for individuals with dementia.

  • The Leprosy Mission

    The Leprosy MissionThe Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian charity, founded in 1874, aiming to eradicate the causes and consequences of leprosy.

    Their mission is to minister in the name of Jesus Christ to the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs of individuals and communities disadvantaged by leprosy; working with them to uphold human dignity and eradicate leprosy.

    TLM serves a population of 305 million people across 202 projects in 28 leprosy-affected countries.

  • Methodist Relief and Development Fund

    Methodist Relief and Development FundThe Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF) grew out of the desire to enable Methodist people to respond effectively, in the context of global poverty and injustice, to the commandments of Jesus to love God and love our neighbour.

    The MRDF makes small miracles possible in some of the world’s poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America through: sustainable development; emergency relief; development education and campaigning.

    The MRDF supports more than 43 local, community-based organisations in 21 of the poorest countries, helping individuals and communities to transform their lives and become more self-sufficient.

  • Operation Christmas Child

    Operation Christmas ChildOperation Christmas Child (OCC) is the UK’s largest children’s Christmas appeal and has been running for over 19 years. Thanks to a huge army of volunteers who give their time to help make this Christmas ‘miracle’ come to life, OCC are able to deliver gift-filled shoeboxes to children in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

    OCC work with local churches and charities overseas to ensure that your shoebox gets delivered by hand to children who need it most. OCC’s approach is to give shoeboxes to children in need, regardless of their background or beliefs.

    The Crowthorne Methodist Church ladies group, Serendipy, donate a huge number of gift boxes to OCC every year.

  • Action for Children

    Action for ChildrenAction for Children is committed to helping the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK break through injustice, deprivation and inequality, so they can achieve their full potential.

    Established in 1869 by Methodist minister Thomas Stephenson, the charity was formerly known as the National Children’s Home, but changed its name to Action for Children in 2008. Today, Action for Children is the leading UK provider of family and community centres, children’s services in rural areas, services for disabled children and their families, and services for young people leaving care.

    They provide services in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and also support work in Southern Africa, the Caribbean and Central America.

  • Whitechapel Mission

    Whitechapel MissionWhitechapel Mission cares for the poor and homeless of London regardless of race or religion, in their struggle against hunger, poverty, disease, prejudice and exclusion.

    Founded in 1876, it has continued to be a lifeline for many poor and homeless people in the East End of London. The Mission is the last chance for many people. Their goal is to take care of all people coming through their doors. They provide hot food and drink, showers, clothing, free toilets and the chance of a wash and brush-up.

    The Mission’s goal is to empower people that are excluded and they begin that process by creating an environment built on trust, belonging and understanding.
